                              Holdings in Company

The Company has been notified by Pendana Limited ('Pendana') that its holding in
Mercury is 28,426,667 Ordinary Shares, equivalent to 25.16 per cent. of the
issued voting share capital of the Company.

This holding is 1,760,000 Ordinary Shares greater than previously notified to
the Company. These Ordinary Shares have been held by Pendana since 11 May 2006
but, due to an oversight by its broker, were held in a separate nominee account
and not credited to Pendana's account.
