                               Directorate change

The Board of Mercury is pleased to announce that Ronald Franks has been
appointed as Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect.

Mr Franks has worked for SMPA since 1969 and has over 40 years experience in the
commercial agency sector. He became Managing Partner in 2001 and currently
manages the Agency Division of the practice continuing to work with a number of
substantial corporate clients.

James Lugg will step down as Acting Chief Executive Officer, but will remain on
the Board as a Non-Executive Director.
