A letter from McInerney Holdings Plc to the Irish Stock Exchange dated 2 July
2001, received by the Irish Stock Exchange 3 July 2001.

This is to inform you that the Company was notified today of the following:

Bank of Ireland Asset Management Limited holds an interest of 2,672,656 shares
in the capital of the Company representing 8.4% of the issued capital. Their
previous notified shareholding was 1,889,679 shares being 5.9% of the then
issued share capital.

The holding is registered in the name of Bank of Ireland Nominees Limited, on
behalf of a range of clients who are each the beneficial owner of a portion of
the shareholding.
