Photobook Maker named 'Best Photo Kiosk 2009'

Photo-Me's newly-launched Photobook Maker, the first self-service kiosk able to produce a photobook in minutes, has received the prestigious 'Best Photo Kiosk 2009' accolade from TIPA, the Technical Image Press Association.

Every year, TIPA editors, from the 25 member photo magazines from 10 European countries, vote for the best photo and imaging products introduced in Europe during the previous 12 months.

The Photobook Maker was chosen for its excellence in image quality and its ingenuity. Innovation, leading-edge technology, design, ergonomics, ease of use, and price/performance ratio are all part of the award selection criteria.

The Photobook Maker will be aimed globally at retail outlets (especially the major retail chains) and tourist locations. It will offer retailers the opportunity to extend their service whilst generating a high-margin revenue. The machine is compact, occupying less than 3 sq ft, and easy to maintain.

International trials with some of the world's largest retail chains are already underway, with deliveries commencing in the summer of 2009.

Technical Note: 

Up to 30 pages and 90 photos can be included in each photobook. The print resolution is a high quality 300 dpi. The popular 5.7' x 8' size is easy to view, share and store. 

To complete an album, consumers bring their images on a memory card or USB stick to the Photobook Maker, select the images to appear in the book, and ensure the images are positioned correctly. Consumers then choose a photo for the front cover and enter a title which will be printed on the cover and spine. Sorting (chronologically and by event) and layout are automatic, making the Photobook Maker simple for consumers to operate. Approximately eight minutes later, consumers leave the kiosk with their new photobook, printed on high gloss, stain proof and scratch resistant paper and fully bound.
