                           Transaction in Own shares


McBride PLC ('the Company') announces that on 8 October 2007, it purchased
through Dresdner Kleinwort 100,000 of its ordinary shares at 183.5p per share.
The Company intends to hold these shares in treasury.

Following the purchase of these shares, McBride plc holds 602,019 ordinary
shares in treasury and has a total of 180,367,623 ordinary shares (excluding
treasury shares) in issue.
