                           Transaction in Own shares

McBride PLC ('the Company') announces that on 28 September 2007, it purchased
through Dresdner Kleinwort 250,000 of its ordinary shares at 174.795p per share.
The Company intends to hold these shares in treasury.

Following the purchase of these shares, McBride plc holds 502,019 ordinary
shares in treasury and has a total of 180,449,772 ordinary shares (excluding
treasury shares) in issue.
