Appointment of Chairman Elect

Further to the announcement on 24 February of Iain Napier's decision to retire as Chairman on 30 June 2016, McBride plc, Europe's leading supplier of private label household and personal care products, announces today the appointment of John Coleman as a Non-Executive Director and Chairman Elect with immediate effect. John will work closely with Iain over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition of his responsibilities and will formally succeed as Chairman with effect from 1 July 2016.

John is Chairman of Bonmarche Holdings plc and PJSC M Video as well as of the private company, Barchester Healthcare Ltd.  From 2008 to 2015 John was Chairman of Aga Rangemaster Group plc.  He was also Senior Independent Director whilst at Travis Perkins plc between 2005 and 2014.  He has no other current non-executive director positions, although he has had considerable experience holding office as a non-executive director in a number of companies across multiple market sectors.

During his career John has also had significant executive experience in the retail sector, having been CEO of House of Fraser between 1996 and 2006 and CEO of Texas Homecare, a part of Ladbrokes plc, between 1993 and 1995. Prior to this he was a member of the senior management team at the Burton Group, holding managing director roles for a number of its fashion chains.

There is no other information required to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13 R of the Listing Rules.
