                       UK HOUSEHOLD PRODUCTS ACQUISITION



McBride plc, ('McBride') Europe's leading supplier of household and personal
care Private Label products, is pleased to announce that it has acquired the
household liquids business and assets of Sanmex International Limited ('Sanmex
'), a UK based private label supplier, for a consideration of £6.5 million plus
a further £1.0 million for inventory, payable in cash on completion. In Sanmex's
last financial year the turnover relating to the business and assets being
acquired was £10 million.


The acquisition is anticipated to be neutral in the current financial year
ending 30 June 2006, and is expected to be earnings enhancing thereafter *.



Commenting on the acquisition, McBride's Chief Executive Miles Roberts said


'I am delighted with the acquisition of Sanmex's liquids business which has
continued to grow in the current financial year. It will provide improved
service to our customers and enable us to further enhance our asset utilisation
and competitiveness'.
