Results of Annual General Meeting

Mattioli Woods plc (AIM: MTW.L), the specialist wealth management and employee benefits business, announces that at the Group's Annual General Meeting held today all resolutions put to shareholders by the Board (which were contained in the Notice of Meeting dated 12 September 2014) were passed unanimously on a show of hands.  Resolutions 1 to 9 were ordinary resolutions and resolution 10 was a special resolution. 

Speaking at the meeting, Bob Woods, Executive Chairman, said: "As I set out in our recent final results statement, I am delighted the year ended 31 May 2014 represented another 12 months of strong growth for the Group 

"I believe our ability to deliver proactive advice, supported by our own products and services, sets us apart from our competition and offers better outcomes for our clients. 

"I welcome George Osborne's recent announcements offering individuals complete freedom to access their pension funds from age 55, which along with the removal of the 55% tax-charge on death, paves the way for the true ownership and inheritance of pension funds.  The opportunities for our existing and new clients will be significant, but it is clear that sound advice, as well as considered product selection, will be key. 

"The strengthening of our board through the recent appointments of Alan Fergusson as Employee Benefits Director and Carol Duncumb as Non-Executive Director reinforces our ability to generate strong and sustainable growth.  We were pleased to recommend a 30% increase in total dividend for the year ended 31 May 2014 and remain committed to delivering strong shareholder returns going forward.
