Transaction in own shares - 17 June 2013

Martin Currie Global Portfolio Trust plc (the "Company") announces that 60,000 shares in the aggregate purchased on 14 June 2012 and 15 June 2012 has been cancelled in accordance with the Company's treasury share policy. Following the cancellation, the Company now holds 768,623 shares in treasury.

The Company's issued share capital comprises 103,724,548 ordinary shares with voting rights and a further 768,623 shares held in treasury.

In accordance with the Disclosure and Transparency Rule 5.6.1, the Company's total number of shares with voting rights therefore remains unchanged at 103,724,548
