                MARSHALLS PLC PROMOTES DAVID SARTI TO THE BOARD

Marshalls plc, the specialist Landscape, Clay and Natural Stone Products Group,
is today pleased to announce that David Sarti, Managing Director of Marshalls
Landscape Products, will be joining the Board with immediate effect.

Mike Davies, Chairman, said:

'This promotion reflects David's increased contribution to the Group since he
took responsibility for the Landscape Products Division. David will be a
valuable addition to the Board as we continue to develop our market leadership
in landscape products creating further value for shareholders.'

In order to maintain an appropriate balance of Executive and Non-Executive
Directors, it is the Board's intention to recruit an additional Non-Executive
Director in the coming months. A search for a suitable candidate is underway.

David Sarti owns 3,482 shares in Marshalls plc. There are no other disclosures
in connection with Rule 16.4 of the Listing Rules.
