Marks & Spencer announces that Robert Colvill will retire from the Board of
Directors of Marks and Spencer p.l.c. on 31 December 2001.
Robert Colvill will remain as Non-Executive Chairman of Marks and Spencer
Financial Services for as long as is necessary to facilitate a smooth
management transition.
