Sharesave options

On 21 November 2008, under the terms of the Marks and Spencer Group plc Sharesave scheme, the following directors/PDMRS were granted options to buy ordinary shares in the Company at an option price of £2.03 per share.

On 10 November 2008, in accordance with the November 2005 Sharesave scheme terms and conditions, Stuart Rose and Ian Dyson surrendered their entitlement granted under the November 2005 Sharesave scheme. Their options under this scheme have lapsed.

Please note: The Sharesave scheme is an all employee HMRC approved Save As You Earn Scheme. Employees can save an amount up to a maximum of £250 per month, either in one scheme or across a number of schemes, over a period of three, five or seven years. At the end of the period the amount saved can be used to buy shares in Marks and Spencer Group plc at a price set at the start of the relevant scheme saving period.  Employees can withdraw their participation at any time and have their money returned to them.
