Acquisition of Galleon Securities Limited

At the Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company held earlier today, the
resolution to approve the acquisition of Galleon Securities Limited by
Manchester & London Investment Trust PLC, announced on 19th July 2000, was
duly passed.  In accordance with the terms of the Acquisition Agreement, the
consideration for the Acquisition will be determined by the company's auditors
by reference to the net asset value of Galleon Securities Limited at the close
of business on 7th August 2000.
