                           Purchase of Own Securities

Man Group plc announces that on 17 November 2006 it purchased for cancellation
1,000,000 of its ordinary shares at a price of 484.04 pence per ordinary share.

Since the start of the financial year on 1 April 2006, Man has repurchased
28,947,507 ordinary shares at a total cost of £122.1 million, giving an average
repurchase cost of 421.84 pence per ordinary share.
