                           Purchase of Own Securities

Man Group plc announces that on 23 April 2007 it purchased for cancellation
55,000 of its ordinary shares at a price of 553.55 pence per ordinary share.

Since the start of the financial year on 1 April 2007, Man has repurchased
220,000 ordinary shares at a total cost of £1.2 million, giving an average
repurchase cost of 554.67 pence per ordinary share.
