Notification is given pursuant to Chapter 16.13 of the Listing Rules, that on
8th November 1999, the interests of the E D & F Man Group 1990 Employee Trust
('the Employee Trust') registered in the name of E D & F Man Employee
Investments (Jersey) Ltd a/c 13071 A/B in the share capital of the company
have been reduced by 639,007 shares to 4,359,389 ordinary shares as a result
of the transfer for no consideration of 639,007 shares to beneficiaries of the
Loyalty Share Scheme established by the Employee Trust for the benefit of full
time employees of the company (or any subsidiary). 

Also on 8th November 1999 the security interest of the E D & F Man Group 1990
Employee Trust was reduced by 69,688 shares (for nil consideration).  The
Employee Trust now has a security interest over 4,181,814 shares.

Executive Directors of the company are deemed to be interested in the
4,359,389 shares held by the Employee Trust and the 4,181,814 shares over
which the Employee Trust holds a security interest.
