Appointment of new Directors


Macfarlane Group PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of two independent
non-executive directors with effect from the close of today's Annual General
Meeting.


Kevin Mellor (57) joins the Board and will be nominated as the senior
independent non-executive director and will chair the remuneration committee.
Kevin adds significant operations experience of particular relevance to the
Group having held senior positions at Tibbett & Britten Group plc and Transport
Development Group. Kevin is currently President of Bax Global for Europe, Middle
East and Africa. He is also a non-executive director of Brammer PLC.


Graeme Bissett (46) will join the Board and assume the chairmanship of the audit
committee. Graeme has considerable financial experience having been the finance
director of Kwik-Fit. Prior to this Graeme was a partner with Arthur Andersen.
Graeme has recently been appointed a non-executive director of Belhaven Group
plc.


The Board believes these appointments provide the blend of experience and
expertise required to give the Board appropriate strength and balance.
