DIRECTORS' SHARE INTERESTS
MR P E HADSLEY-CHAPLIN

Mr P E Hadsley-Chaplin,  a director of the Company,  has   today  exercised  his
option over 165,000 shares of 10p each (representing 0.32 per cent of the issued
share  capital  of  the Company) granted at 75.5p per share. The  aforementioned
165,000 shares have been acquired by Mr Hadsley-Chaplin's SIPP at a cost of 254p
per share.

His interests in the issued share capital of the Company are now as follows:

Beneficial:  719,766
Non-beneficial:  166,439
Options:  1,343,235 shares of 10p each

ISSUED SHARE CAPITAL
The  revised  issued  share capital following the exercise  of  the  options  is
50,941,153 shares of 10p each.
