M&C Saatchi Plc (the 'Company') - Transaction in Own Shares

M&C Saatchi plc announces that on 3 October 2006 it purchased 700,000 of its
ordinary shares at a price of 1.12 pence per share. It is intended that these 
shares will be held in Treasury.

Following the purchase, M&C Saatchi plc holds 700,000 of its ordinary shares in
Treasury and has a total of 53,506,799 ordinary shares (excluding shares held
in Treasury) in issue.
