Trading Update

LPA Group Plc, the LED Lighting and Electro-Mechanical Engineering Group, is pleased to announce an important contract win, subsidiary company board appointments and trading update.

Contract win

LPA Excil Electronics has secured an initial order worth £0.6m to supply LED reading lights to be installed in new rolling stock for the French railway operator SNCF. The scope of supply includes LED and optics package, drive electronics, touch sensitive buttons and assembly. Deliveries will commence in 2011 and continue until at least 2014.

This initial order is for 142 train sets with options for a total of up to 1,000 train sets, representing a potential value of £4.5m over 10 years.

Board Appointments at LPA Excil Electronics

John Hesketh, currently Technical Director, is appointed Director and General Manager of LPA Excil Electronics Limited, with effect from 1^st January 2011. John, 47, has served Excil for 27 years, starting as an electronics design engineer. He holds HND qualifications in Electronic Engineering and Advanced Engineering Mathematics.

Robin Capel Dunn, currently Export Sales Manager, is appointed as Sales Director, Rail Vehicle Lighting for LPA Excil Electronics Limited, with effect from 1^st January 2011. Robin, 31, joined the Group as Marketing Assistant in 2004 and holds a Master's Degree in International Business, gained at the Université de Savoie, France. Robin has previously worked as a Business Intelligence Coordinator for Arcelor-Mittal.

Trading Update

The second half of the financial year ended 30^th September proved to be less challenging than the first half, but still very disappointing   However, the financial year finished strongly, and the start of the current financial year has been much better than the corresponding period last year.  

The Preliminary Announcement of results for the year ended 30 September 2010 is expected to be made during the week commencing 24^th January 2011.

This new contract is one of several opportunities on which we have been working for some time and further announcements are anticipated in due course.

The result for last year was disappointing for all the reasons we have previously explained but with a good order book for delivery in the current financial year we look to the future with much more confidence."
