Change of Accounting Reference Date

In accordance with Chapter 12/12 60 of the Listing Rules we advise you that, the
approval of an Extraordinary Resolution by the preference shareholders of
Lookers at an Extraordinary General Meeting of the shareholders today Friday
17th September 1999 the Company's accounting reference date is changed from the
30th September to the 31st December and that financial statements will be
prepared for a period of 15 months from the 1st October 1998 to the 31st
December 1999.

In addition a second interim report in respect of the period from the 1st
October 1998 to the 30th September 1999 will be prepared and published.
