           Announcement of results for six months ended 30 June 2002

Lookers plc, a leading multi franchise national operator in the UK motor retail
industry, will announce interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2002 on
Thursday 29 August 2002.

An analyst briefing will take place at 9.30am on that day with a media briefing
at 11.30am.  Both of these meetings will be held at Hudson Sandler, 29 Cloth
Fair, London EC1A 7NN.
