The issuer has advised that the following correction has been made to the
Lookers PLC Directors' Shareholdings announcement released at 17:54 on 16
December 1999 under RNS No 6905C.

For clarification:
Mr Kenneth H Cheevers and Mr Robert J Gillanders have each increased their
shareholdings to 1,518,233 Ordinary shares.
This represents 4.55% each of the Company's issued Ordinary Share capital and
not 4.0% as previously stated.

Lookers plc were notified today that Mr Kenneth H. Cheevers and Mr. Robert J
Gillanders have increased their personal shareholdings to 1,518,333 Ordinary
Shares each by way of the purchase of 185,000 shares each. This represents
approximately 4.55% each of the Company's issued Ordinary Share capital.
