                             Resignation of a Director

The Board of Directors of Lookers PLC announce the acceptance of the resignation
of Mr G. M. Awad as a Non-Executive Director at 11 May 2000.

Mr Awad's resignation follows promotion within the GE Capital Group which means
that he will be returning to the United States to take up his new position.
