                      APPOINTMENT OF NEW FINANCE DIRECTOR

Liberty Plc ('Liberty'), the Regent Street retail emporium, today announces the
appointment of Crispin Mardon as Finance Director with effect from 31st March
2006. Crispin Mardon is currently Liberty's Chief Financial Officer.

His current directorships are:
CPM Business Consultancy Limited - appointed May 1996
Packjet Limited - appointed July 2004.
His previous directorships held over the past five years are:
Kurt Geiger Limited - appointed 1 May 2000 and resigned 27 Feb 2004
Salvation Army Trading Company Limited - appointed December 2004 and resigned
June 2005.

There are no additional details to be disclosed under Schedule 2 paragraph g of
the AIM rules.

Fraser Allan, Liberty's existing Finance Director, has confirmed his resignation
with effect from 31st March 2006 to take up a senior appointment with another
retail organisation.
