                    BOARD CHANGE AT LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE

The London Stock Exchange today announced that Sir John Bond would be retiring
from its board on 31 December.

Sir John Kemp-Welch, Chairman, said, 'I know that all John Bond's colleagues on
the board will miss the commitment and steadfast support he brought to our
affairs.  We are very grateful to him.'
