Purchase of Own Securities

London Securities PLC announces that on 5 December 2000 it re-purchased, for
cancellation, 5,000 ordinary shares (representing 0.03 per cent of the issued
share capital) at a price of 600p per share.

Following the cancellation of these shares, the ordinary share capital of
London Securities will be 14,545,619 shares.  As a result of the reduced share
capital JG Murray's interest now represents 95.44% of the issued share
capital.
