Notification of Major Interests in Shares

The Company received a notification today from Merrill Lynch Investment Managers
informing it on behalf of certain of its discretionary management clients who
are invested in an unauthorised unit trust of which Merrill Lynch Investment
Managers are the investment manager, that as at 21 March 2003 the BNY Trust
Company Ltd. As Trustee of the MLIT- Merrill Lynch Alpha Specialist Situations
Investment Fund, following a sale of 500,000 ordinary 1p shares, date not
specified, have a holding of 804,106 ordinary shares, representing 2.82% of the
issued ordinary share capital of the company.
