Legal & General Group PLC 21 March 2005 21 March 2005 Legal & General extends relationship with National Australia Group Legal & General Group Plc (Legal & General) today announces that it has extended its distribution relationship with National Australia Group. In addition to the continuing sole supplier for Life and Critical Illness products (used by 500 mortgage advisers and financial planners) Legal & General has now been appointed to the new multi-tied product panel for individual and corporate protection business. This panel has been established under the new depolarisation rules and will be used by National Australia Group's 50 senior financial advisers. These advisers operate under the Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank brands throughout Great Britain, including Clydesdale Bank's current expansion into the South-East of England. This arrangement builds on the continued growing success for protection products where cross sell rates of life insurance to mortgages has improved from 16% to around 40% over the past 18 months.
