The figure of 5.71% announced earlier today incorrectly included non-beneficial
interests of 2.71%.



In accordance with the provisions of Section 198 of the Companies Act 1985,
Legal & General Group Plc ('the Group') has been advised today that, as at 7
November 2006, Axa S.A. had a beneficial interest in 195,584,778 Ordinary shares
of 2.5p of the Group, which represented 3.00% of the issued share capital on
that date.
