Mr. R. A. Phipps, an executive director of Legal & General Group Plc ('Group')
has today purchased 12,000 ordinary shares of 2.5p each in Group at a price of
137p per share.
Following this transaction, Mr. Phipps' beneficial shareholding in Group,
including those of his wife, stands at 900,468.
