Legal & General Group Plc Dividend Reinvestment Plan ('the Plan')

Lloyds TSB Registrars have today advised us that, in accordance with the terms
of the Plan, they acquired ordinary shares of 2.5p each in the Group on 22 May
2006 at a price of 129.8011p on behalf of the following Group directors:

J. M. Strachan                                 1,436

Following the above reported transaction, the directors' beneficial interests in
the ordinary shares of the Group are:

C. R. R. Avery                             1,109,759
J. M. Strachan                                54,336
