Leeds Group PLC 24 June 2002 Issued by Leeds Group plc Date: Monday 24th June 2002 Leeds Group plc Leeds Group completes substantial property transaction Leeds Group plc announces that its subsidiary Leeds Dyers Limited has today completed the sale to Bridgemere Properties Limited of its Strines Printworks site at Marple, Cheshire for an initial cash consideration of £2.00 million. The proceeds will be applied to reduce the level of Group debt. Further consideration, up to a maximum of £1.45million, could be payable to Leeds Dyers Limited in the event of Bridgemere Properties Limited obtaining certain planning consents over the next fifteen years. This site was included in the accounts at £1.95m, and has been surplus to requirements since the Strines Textiles business was sold in June 2001. Two other surplus properties formerly used by the Walsden Printing branch of Leeds Dyers Limited, which together were included in the accounts at £0.76 million, were sold in May and June 2002 for an aggregate consideration of £0.74 million before transaction expenses. Leeds Group now has one remaining UK property for disposal, namely the site at Yeadon formerly used by Scott & Rhodes, the dyeing business. Outline residential planning consent for this property was obtained in June 2002, and discussions with the planning authorities continue on planning detail. Leeds Group confirms that its interim results for the six months ended 31st March 2002 will be published on Wednesday 26th June 2002.
