Land Securities Group PLC (the 'Company') announces that on 14 December 2007

 it purchased  200,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 1435.9549 pence
per share. The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares. Following the
above purchase, Land Securities Group PLC holds 5,646,000 ordinary shares in
treasury, and has 465,094,068 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury
shares).
