Land Securities Group PLC - Transactions in Own Shares


Land Securities Group PLC (the 'Company') announces that on 16 August 2007 it
purchased 200,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 1723.3869 pence per
share. The highest price paid was 1725 pence per share and the lowest price paid
was 1698 pence per share.

The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares. Following the above
purchase, Land Securities Group PLC holds 4,454,000 ordinary shares in treasury,
and has 466,014,075 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
