Land Securities Group Plc 21 May 2003 21 May 2003 LAND SECURITIES GROUP PLC ('Land Securities') APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Land Securities announces that Stuart Rose has been appointed to the Board as a non-executive Director with immediate effect. Until December 2002, Stuart, (54), was Chief Executive of Arcadia Group plc, the owner of several well-known high street retailers including Dorothy Perkins, Evans, Miss Selfridge, Top Shop and Top Man. He left Arcadia when it was acquired by Taveta Investments. Stuart's distinguished career in retail includes roles at Marks & Spencer, the Burton Group and Booker plc, the grocery cash-and-carry group. Commenting on the appointment, Land Securities' Chairman, Peter Birch, said 'We are delighted that Stuart has agreed to join the Board. With retail now representing more than 50% of our portfolio and our plans to invest further in major retail developments, we believe that Stuart's wealth of retail experience will add substantial value to the Group through his understanding of retailers and their customer needs.'
