Application has been made to the Financial Services Authority and the London
Stock Exchange plc for 2,905 Ordinary shares of £1 each ('shares') to be
admitted to the Official List.

It is expected admission will be granted on 28 December 2001 and trading will
commence on 31 December 2001.

These shares are being issued as a result of the exercise of share options
under the Savings Related Share Option Scheme.

1,200 Shares were issued prior to the record date for Interim Dividend 23
November and 1,705 shares were issued subsequent to the record date.

These shares now rank pari passu with the existing issued ordinary shares.
