Digital Transformation Report

Kin and Carta plc ("Kin + Carta" or the "Company"), the global digital transformation ("DX") consultancy, is pleased to announce the completion of its inaugural Digital Transformation Report, '2024 Leadership Priorities in Tech'.

Digital transformation has become an essential component of the business landscape, with technology playing a key role in all major organisations. However, the digital transformation landscape evolves rapidly and has changed dramatically over a short period of time. Therefore, Kin + Carta commissioned this new report to better understand the areas of greatest focus and investment for its clients, especially during a time of economic uncertainty. Through the findings, it also aims to help clients understand these challenges across their own industries.

The research was conducted using a third-party firm and involved over 800 senior business leaders in the US and UK, comprising a mix of C-suite and other senior decision-makers in £800m+ turnover / $1bn+ revenue organisations across a range of industries.

Key findings include:

·     Nearly all of the business leaders surveyed (94%) admit to anxiety in relation to adopting new technologies and processes

·     81% of leaders believe investment in digital transformation is critical to business success or a necessity

·     75% believe investment is required urgently, in the next 12 months

·    Despite economic uncertainty, 58% intend to spend more on digital transformation projects this year than last, with priority areas including;

improving customer experience;

AI and machine learning;

cloud modernisation;

automation of internal processes;

data foundations and analytics; and

cyber security and data privacy

·      The top three sources of anxiety are;

cyber security (cited by 24% of respondents);

AI and machine learning (19%); and

sustainability strategy and tracking (17%)

Richard Neish, Global Chief Strategy Officer at Kin + Carta, comments: "As the speed of data and technology change accelerates, leaders are scrambling to keep pace. 94% of the 800 executives we surveyed said their senior leaders were experiencing 'tech anxiety', with the research revealing cyber security, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and sustainability strategy as the top causes of concern. The report is further evidence of our commitment to our clients to help them own their technology and data futures."
