OVER £95M OF NEW SUPPORT SERVICES WORK FOR KIER

Since releasing a strong set of interim results in February, Kier has secured over £95m of work within its Support Services division in a series of long-term contracts in East Northamptonshire, Gosport and Waltham Forest as well as a framework contract in the East Midlands.  Four of these five contracts will be undertaken for new clients.

In East Northamptonshire, Kier will be carrying out domestic waste collection, recycling and street cleaning under a £2.1m per annum, seven-year contract which carries an option to extend for a further seven years.  The service will cover 37,000 homes and recycling will be carried out at Kier's materials recycling facility in Warwickshire.

For Gosport Borough Council, two, ten-year contracts with a combined value of £6.65m per annum for reactive and planned repairs to council properties have been secured. Both are optionally extendable for a further five years.  Ascham Homes, the arms length management organisation for the London Borough of Waltham Forest, has extended its responsive repairs contract until March 2012, representing an additional £4m of work.

Most recently, Kier has been selected as one of six contractors to join the East Midlands Property Alliance framework. The four-year framework has a potential value between £9m and £50m per year.

Kier Group chief executive Paul Sheffield commented: "This is excellent news for Kier. We are fortunate to enjoy a high level of repeat business from existing clients but we are always delighted to win work from new clients which brings the opportunity to demonstrate how we can deliver best value and award-winning levels of service for the public sector."
