Kier Group plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Gregory to the
Board with effect from 1 July 2003. Robert, who is currently Deputy Managing
Director of Kier Residential, will become the Managing Director of Kier
Residential and the main board director responsible for Kier Group's house
building division.

Robert has a wealth of experience in house building having become the finance
director for the house building division in 1994 and more recently the Managing
Director of Allison Homes (a subsidiary of the Group).

Kier Group Chairman, Colin Busby, commented, "This latest move follows the
announcement of David Homer's retirement at the end of June 2003 and forms part
of our ongoing strategy to ensure the continued growth and success of our
residential business. I wish Robert every success in this new role".
