Moma Pilot Plant Operations Successfully Completed

Kenmare Resources PLC 29 February 2000 KENMARE RESOURCES PLC ('KENMARE') Moma Pilot Plant Operations Successfully Completed Kenmare has successfully completed pilot plant operations at its Moma Titanium Minerals project in northern Mozambique. One thousand tonnes of ore were processed through the pilot plant over a six week period. The resulting Heavy Mineral Concentrate has been shipped to Australia where product samples will be produced and process design work completed. Pilot plant testing follows the Pre-Feasibility Study, concluded earlier this year. This confirmed that the project is commercial and can provide strong returns when completed. The Moma project is unaffected by recent rains and flooding which are being experienced in southern Mozambique. Charles Carvill, Kenmare's Chairman said: 'The completion of pilot plant operations, on budget and ahead of schedule, is a significant milestone towards the achievement of the Definitive Feasibility Study for this major project. The study is due to be finished before the end of the year. We hope to begin production during 2002.' For more information: Michael Carvill Managing Director +353-1-671 0411 or +353-87-6740110
