AGM Statement

Kenmare Resources plc ("Kenmare" or "the Company")   9 May 2008   Director Appointment and Resolutions passed at Kenmare's Annual General Meeting   Kenmare's Chairman, Charles Carvill, was today pleased to announce that Sofia Bianchi has agreed to join the Board of Kenmare as a Non-Executive Director, with immediate effect.   Sofia Bianchi has extensive experience in banking, fund management and mergers & acquisitions (M&A). She is currently Portfolio Manager with BlueCrest Capital Management. She held the position of Deputy Managing Director of the Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund with Standard Bank London from 2002 to 2007. She has previously held a senior position with European Bank for Reconstruction & Development.   From 1987 to 1992 she was a member of a global M&A advisory team where she initiated, structured and executed cross-border M&A transactions.   She holds a BA in Economics from George Washington University, Washington, DC and an MBA from Wharton School of Business, Philadelphia.   Charles Carvill, Chairman, said that he welcomed Sofia Bianchi to the Kenmare Board and was looking forward to working with her.   "I am delighted that Sofia has agreed to join the Board of Kenmare. She brings to the Board a wealth of experience in banking and financing which will be extremely useful as the Moma Titanium Minerals Mine continues to grow."   In addition, the Directors of the Company announce that each of the resolutions proposed at the Annual General Meeting of the Company held today, Friday 9 May were passed.
