PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

FINANCIAL YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2011

Further to our public announcement dated 25^th January 2011 and pursuant to Regulation 19 of the Capital Markets Authority Regulations and the Fifth Schedule, Continuing Obligations, Notice is hereby given that the Del Monte Kenya Limited (DMKL) claim for repayment of Kshs109 million, relating to discovery of an alleged error made by DMKL in calculating the sale price of pineapples for the joint venture between Kakuzi Limited and DMKL for the years 2007 and 2008, has been fully withdrawn by DMKL and a revised Joint project agreement entered into with DMKL.
