                 JPMORGAN FLEMING MID CAP INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

                 REPURCHASE OF ORDINARY SHARES FOR CANCELLATION

JPMorgan Fleming Mid Cap Investment Trust plc announces that on Monday 6th
December 2004 in the market it purchased for cancellation 43,000 ordinary shares
at 349 pence per share representing 0.12% of the ordinary shares in issue.

The current repurchase authority for 5,450,663 shares was approved by
shareholders on 3rd November 2004.  To date 93,000 shares have been repurchased
under this authority.

The remaining shares in issue following this repurchase totals 36,269,000.
