The Board of JPMorgan Fleming Mid Cap Investment Trust plc are pleased to
announce the appointment of Mr Andrew Barker as a non-executive Director with
effect from 1 October 2004.


Mr Barker was employed by F&C Management Limited between 1970 and 2000, and was
a Director from 1973.  He was a Director of Foreign & Colonial Investment Trust
between 1991 and 1998 and Chairman of the AITC in 1998 and 1999


In accordance with paragraph 16.4 of the FSA Listing Rules a further disclosure
will be made within 14 days
