New Director

The Board of JPMorgan Fleming Mid Cap Investment Trust plc are pleased to
announce the appointment of Mr J.W. Leng as a non-executive Director with effect
from 27th January 2003.

Jim Leng has had extensive business experience, including six years as Chief
Executive of Laporte between 1995 and 2001.  He is currently Deputy Chairman of
Corus plc, and a Non-Executive Director of Pilkington and IMI.

Notification of details requiring disclosure under paragraph 16.4 of the FSA
listing Rules will be made in due course.
