                 JPMORGAN FLEMING JAPANESE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

The Board of the JPMorgan Fleming Japanese Investment Trust plc ('the Company')
announces today that the assistant investment manager, Mr Jonathan Dobson, has
resigned from JPMorgan Asset Management.

Mr Stephen Mitchell who has been the lead investment manager since 1997 will
continue to head the management team.  An announcement in respect of the
appointment of any new assistant investment manager will be made in due course.
