CANCELLATION OF SHARES HELD IN TREASURY

JPMorgan Japan Smaller Companies Trust plc announces that on Friday 20th May 2011 it cancelled 419,500 ordinary shares that had been bought back in the market between 21st November 2008 and 2nd October 2009 and held in Treasury.

Following this cancellation the Company does not hold any shares in Treasury. 

The number of shares in issue is 39,874,822 ordinary shares and 7,233,474 subscription shares.
