                      JPMORGAN INDIAN INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

                 REPURCHASE OF ORDINARY SHARES FOR CANCELLATION


JPMorgan Indian Investment Trust plc announces that today in the market it
purchased for cancellation 305,000 ordinary shares at 216.2382 pence per share,
representing a total of 0.3% of the ordinary shares in issue.

The current repurchase authority for 14,718,725 shares was approved by
shareholders on 24th January 2006.  To date 305,000 ordinary shares have been
repurchased under this authority.

The remaining number of ordinary shares in issue following this repurchase is
104,606,662.
